I haven't written in weeks... it's not that nothing is happening here, it's just that I didn't have the energy to write. Work has been very busy and it's been cold. The girls are enjoying all their Christmas gifts, they love to play, color, run around, etc.

Here are the highlights...
Jan 6 - M and I went to see "Charlotte's Web". It was a cute movie and M was very well behaved. We had popcorn and water and only had to get up once to use the restroom.
We also had the huge evergreen tree in front of our house removed. It was very lopsided after the previous 2 storms we had and looked awful. Also, we were worried about it falling on our house if we had another storm.
G re-painted our bedroom. Now it's blue and I love it.

Jan 7 - J got sick and threw-up on her bedroom carpet during the night. For breakfast G fed her fruit loops and banana which she proceeded to throw up on the living room carpet. Then I gave her 7-up and G fed her fruit snacks while I was in the shower. After I got out of the shower J threw-up again, this time in the hallway on the runner and on my foot :( I then took matters in my own hands and gave her a bath, some more 7-up and put her to bed, patting her back until she fell asleep. After she napped she was fine. I don't know what G was thinking when he kept feeding J random, blue colored items. All I know is that I spent a lot of time cleaning carpets that afternoon!

Jan 12 - Ice Storm....
Jan 13 - 4am - the power went out... luckily we didn't personally have any trees down since we just had the one in the front removed and the ones in the back thinned last summer, so we didn't have much to worry about on that front. It was c.o.l.d. We stuck it out until after lunch, but I was freezing and worried about what we were going to do to entertain the kids once it got dark at 4pm, so we packed up and headed to Nana & Pawpaw's house.
Jan 14 - still no power, still at Nana & PawPaw's house
Jan 15 - still no power, still at Nana & PawPaw's house
Jan 16 - power returned at 2am. We left the girls with Nana while we went to work since we didn't know if daycare would have power when we left the house. Before work, we stopped at home and happily found power returned and the house warm. So after work we went back to collect the kids. M didn't want to come home. She wanted to have another "sleep-over" at Nana's house.
Jan 17 - I cleaned and scoured the fridge because we didn't think to empty it before we left on Sat. The ice-cream melted and re-froze in the freezer... what a mess.

Jan 20 - M had ballet class, J had swimming class. Aunt M and Uncle J came to visit and play with the girls. G took down the x-mas lights (they haven't been on for weeks, but now they are finally off the house). The house finally got cleaned up and the laundry caught up after the power outage mess.
Jan 21 - I took M to a birthday party of one of her classmates at Chuck-E-Cheese. We have a love/hate relationship with that place. M loves it, I hate it. It's noisy and loud and they kids run around like maniacs, but it's a lot of fun for them. M is always asking to go there, but so far I've only gone when we are invited to a b-day party. I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible otherwise.
Later in the afternoon some friends came over to have G help them get their son's car ready for the boy-scout's pine-wood derby. Their kids played with our kids and had a wonderful, crazy, loud time. They brought the girls some belated birthday gifts which they love! They gave M a "Doodle Bear", which she is absolutely enamoured with. She had been asking me for one since before x-mas and I kept putting her off because I didn't know if she was old enough for it. The funny part was, that just that afternoon when she and I were at target, she asked me for one and I told her "Not today, maybe next time". It's funny how things work out sometimes.
