a rough day...

We will not be eating out for a while, you might think it's because the rising cost of gas, or we are saving up for a vacation, or for renovations on the house, but in reality it's because tonight at dinner neither one of our children ate a single bite of their food.

G was golfing today and I took the girls to a birthday party. When G got home we decided to go out for dinner. M suggested O'Charley's and we hadn't been there for a while, so we agreed. Both girls chose what they wanted from the menu, and other than the fact that G wouldn't let M have french fries or cheetos as a side item and she had a melt down, we did not make the decision or force them into ordering something they didn't want. That didn't seem to matter. So guess what they will be eating tomorrow for lunch and/or dinner. If you are thinking it's their dinner from tonight, then you would be correct.

I think the hardest part about this behavior is that our girls know the rules and what's expected of them, and 90% of the time they are really well behaved. G and I were both very frustrated and both girls went straight to bed when we got home, with no story or song, over an hour earlier than normal.

Tomorrow is a new day, I'm hoping for a better one...
