Preschool...
M will be 4 this winter, which means she should start pre-school classes this fall. The only problem with that is the pre-K class at our daycare is full, they only have 5 kids starting Kindergarten and M is 6th in line to move up. So most of her friends will move, but she will not. I'm not worried too much about the friends thing, because a few of her friends are younger than her by a month or so, so they will stay with her. What worries me is that she already knows her letters, can write her name, and can almost read. So if she doesn't move into a real pre-k class will she be bored? Will she not be challenged enough? Will she become more whinny because she spends all her time with 2 and 3 year olds and she's looking for attention? Will she learn all the things she needs to learn before starting school? I was already worried about her being in pre-K for 2 years and being bored in kindergarten, but what now?
I've called some other pre-schools, but most don't have any openings, are really expensive, really in-convenient to get to, etc. I just don't know what to do! I hate to move her to another school where she doesn't know anyone... But maybe that would be what's best for her. How do we decide?
