Baby Juwcis.....

M came home from school yesterday and told me how her friend "read" her the story of "Baby Juwcis". These kids are 3, they can't read... It took me a minute to figure out what she was talking about.

Santa had come to school and gave all the kids gifts (that the parent's had brought in before hand). M got a book about Red Riding hood, her friend N got a book, G got a barbie doll and K got a barbie car. As she was telling me this I asked if she read her book she told me no, but that K had read her the story about "Baby Juwcis". I'm guessing that she meant "Baby Jesus".

G and I aren't religious and had never discussed this aspect of Christmas with M. I guess the time has come.

This weeks cartoon over at "The Reign of Ellen" is perfect!

M's first ballet...

On Saturday, G, My sister M and I took M to see her very first ballet. We took her to see The Nutcracker. It was performed by the St. Louis Ballet Company, who my boss's daughter dances with. We went to see the special, shortened, narrated version set up for children.

M was in complete awe of the ballerinas. She was excited and could hardly sit still. She watched carefully and sat on my lap, then her dad's, then her own seat, then mine. She could hardly contain all the excitement. She is still talking about ballerinas days later.

I'm really glad that her first exposure to the theater was a good one!
